
FREDERIC JOHNSTONE, MD

Frederic Johnstone, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with a clinical interest in hand surgery and upper extremity disorders. After completing medical school, followed by an internship at Madigan Army Medical Center, he then served a little over a year as a flight surgeon in Korea. He also served in Desert Storm with the 28th Combat Support Hospital. He has served as chief of orthopedics, orthopedic residency director, and chief of Surgery at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. After retiring from the military, he joined several of his former military colleagues at Rainier Orthopedic Institute. Since then, he has been active in leadership positions at MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital serving as president of the medical staff and currently serving on the MultiCare Good Samaritan Regional Oversight Board.
In his spare time, Dr. Johnston enjoys gardening, landscaping, cycling, and model railroading. He is also a volunteer Wrangler at the Puyallup Rodeo.
