CERTIFICATE OF ADDED QUALIFICATION IN SPORTS MEDICINE

Megan L. Charboneau, MD, is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) with a subspecialty certification in Sports Medicine. She has special interest in non-operative treatment of musculoskeletal injuries of the shoulder, elbow, pelvis, hip, knee, and ankle, diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal ultrasound, as well as injuries unique to the female athlete. She involves patients in their treatment plan and provides individualized care in order to return them back to their desired level of activity. Additionally, Dr. Charboneau is one of few physicians in the area to offer TENEX – a breakthrough technology for the treatment of chronic tendon disorders.

Dr. Charboneau grew up in Missouri and completed medical school at University of Missouri – Kansas City through their accelerated combined Bachelor/MD program. She completed her Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at the University of Missouri – Columbia where she served as chief resident.  She then moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to complete a Sports Medicine fellowship at Medical College of Wisconsin. After training she joined the Medical College of Wisconsin Orthopedic Department as assistant professor. In 2015, she relocated to the Pacific Northwest with her family.  She enjoys exploring the area with her husband, daughter and son.
